If you decide to go for a Rat look you're about done.

If you pay close attention to the back end, you can see where I have done some essential lightening for the hole shot.

Really needs a savage roof chop!

it's coming.

I'm REALLY looking forward to doing the bodystuff. Should be mega mega fun times. Ifs annoying working 9-5 because I reckon if I went for it I could have shell solid in a week. Spread over 1 day a week it works out to a month and a half :-/ .

Roofchops gonna be hard. I need to get another 2 roofs yet and we are going to try and keep the metal sliding sunroof as well. If we manage it there won't be another (as far as I'm aware) in the world to be done with one.

Setting yourself up for a challenge then!... Not only fun for you but interesting for us too.  Yet's it's a golf site but this is a thoroughly enjoyable thread and can't wait to see progress on this roof.

I am like you, I struggle with time, another weekend has passed and not touched the car! *sigh*

Keeping the steel sliding roof will be difficult! Hope you can manage it!

Yeah. Chopping it will be hard anyway lol. Not sure if the original size of it can be kept as the whole top will be smaller, so may have to make up a new on that's a bit smaller.

Good day today. lots of socialising and getting stuff done. Managed to get one side of the heater channels out so if the floor is 50% of the work and the heater channels is 50% of the work, but you need to do 4 things so I did 25% of 50% of the work today so tied in the body is 62.5% of the way there? for now anyway. Managed to get the doors tacked in to make the shell sturdier - had to jack up the side which didn;t fit nice and ratchet strapped it tight and tacked it in. Anyway pics!

Mocking in the new channel had to cut out the seat runners

Man you've got your work cut out!....  Respect to you, didn't realise you had so much cutting and welding to do.

Haha! Yeah loadsa work, but that's what happens when buying cheap I guess. To be fair though once the channels are in that's the majority of cutting and welding done. It's not having rear seats so will curve a flat sheet and weld it in so that's the body in solid.

Should hopefully only take a couple of weeks to get the channels in. Then will raise the gearbox and have found a local guy whose going to attempt to band the steels for me.
