Ok, quick schedule of work to be done in the short term......

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's - 7.5" X 17" ET36 in anthracite (OEM are 7" x 17" ET46) - due to arrive in two weeks.
Milltek full Stainless steel TBE. No middle box or pre-cat - again due in 2 weeks.
Bilstein B16 PSS10's - due at the end of the week.
Tarox 6 pots and 323mm discs (OEM are 288mm and single pot calipers) - One week for delivery as I ordered cherry red.......again!
ITG intake - imminent
Rear ARB - TBC
Intercooler - undecided on which one to get - Forge, APR or VWRacing (once developed), but may opt for Forge again as they have one which would fit with a little adaptation.
Lightweight battery - by the end of the month.

So it should be a quick change ready for winter, with plenty of protective grease etc going on to keep it looking pristine over those harsh winter months.

Over the winter I'll be looking at a few other bits for show and go too.

Hat tip to the man with deep pockets and good taste in modifications.

Why start from brand new?  I'm confused.

I thought the idea with the Golf was that it had become too fierce for a daily.

Isn't this going to wind up the same (very quickly, too)?

I still think you should have gone 968 for a plaything and had a relatively sane daily, but it's your cash and I like what you do with it.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

I'd debated other routes of cars/modifications, but the wife simply came home one day after a passenger ride in one of these and said "I've found OUR new car!" and that was it, I had no choice. Although I did vet the choice with a few extended test drives

My better half doesn't mind the mods, in fact she specifically asked about me putting the Bilstein coilovers on the Polo - but not in those words, it was more like. That ride on the Golf was lovely are you doing the same again? well.....I didn't want to disappoint her eh?
The only proviso is that I'm not allowed Nitrous injection on this one as the NOS in the Golf scared her sh!tless. and took up the boot space. So I guess that means water/meth through the screenwash bottle then

Because of the ED30, you kind of set yourself up for this. Most people that clicked this project EXPECTED something mad, that's what we got!

Good luck with this, i hope it turns out to be as mad as it sounds!
