R32 fuel consumption, quick reply needed!
« on: 05 November 2008, 11:13 »
I have just been offered an unbelieveable deal on an R32. I am sooo tempted to say yes, but I need to step back and work out the figures.

Roughly how many miles do you get to a full tank of fuel and how much does it cost to fill up? I will be doing mainly motorway miles.

Reason i ask is, I had decided to get a GTI because I do over 1500 miles a month so fuel consumption is a major factor.

Thanks for your help guys

Didn't you already ask me this?

300 miles per tank give or take. 50-something quid to fill up. I do around 1200 miles a month and spend about 250 - 300 per month on petrol.

My long term average in a mk4 R32 was 27mpg, I am tempted to change back to one I must admit, mainly as I miss the 4wd.

The GTI average is 32mpg, same sort of driving.

The only stumbling block now is its only a 3 door, if it was 5 door it would be mine. I have 2 small kids with car seats so need to think before I decide

How much are they asking for it? There are plenty of 5 door ones around. I don't have kids but find the extra doors very useful.
