I honestly haven't had an issue getting fuel, I can't believe all the fuss.

It's been tricky in my area, most stations shut and the remainder with massive queues. I did get fuel a few days ago without too much bother but I had to wait a few days and change some plans so it is causing disruption. Since I was only allowed £30 and had a longish trip out recently I'm down to a quarter tank now so will have a look out today or tomorrow for more fuel. The news did report over the weekend that the issues were mostly in the south/south east.

As has already been said, the media have a lot to answer for making a crisis out of something that wasn’t even worth reporting on in the first place.

There’ve been queues at filling stations in my neck of the woods last week. I was out yesterday and of the six filling stations I passed, only one had fuel (and only one pump was operational).

I didn’t join the panic buyers last week - I already had a 1/2 tank which was plenty for my short term needs, so I saw no point in topping up ‘just in case’. Others have greater needs than me (essential workers, people who need to drive to work). I will need to buy some this week, but I’m hoping sanity has returned and buying petrol won’t be too much of an issue; fingers crossed!

Drove from Sunderland to Glasgow yesterday and couldn't find any E5 super near where I stayed overnight. Did find a Shell station on the way up to Skye though about 10 miles up the M8 which had plenty of E5 and no max purchase limit. Drove up through Fort William and the Esso garage didn't have any super 99 so ended up using Gleaner who had loads of E5 Super. It's hit and miss really but nowhere near as bad as what the media are making out. Just as an aside, the TCR has made extremely light work of traffic and the roads coming up and has averaged 38mpg which I think is excellent considering I wasn't hanging around either.

Really depends where you are... believe me it's bad down where I am, all three local stations have been dry for days and when one gets any then the queues form blocking junctions, I have to be out by 6.30 and leave at 5'ish so any fuel during the day is gone... unless I can get anything by Wednesday then I'm off work which will hit the NHS in theatres.

Yesterday evening had the first Army delivery but more than 10 miles away so can't afford to waste the good stuff just going to see if any was left.

Thing is the stations have relied on 'just in time' stock levels so their underground tanks are never really full even during the good times.

God what a bore ECO mode is
