Stage 2 golf mk7.5 2016

Hi owned my golf for two weeks and lush but on the weekend when I literally put my foot down and boot it it now snaps back at me as if it doesn’t want to go? Goes to red line in race mode and it snaps back or jumps and beeps and like it skips something then finds itself and goes again but if I gently put my foot down from the start line it clearly climbs up the gears nicely? It didn’t do that before it was evil and smooth?

Any ideas from the poor description of what it could be?

When you say skips, do you mean the wheels hop and the traction light flashes? Also it's a mk7 not a mk7.5, is it manual or DSG?

I'm guessing you bought it at stage 2? Make sure you're using 99 RON if it needs it, other than that I'd get it checked by someone who knows what they're doing with tuned golfs.

What brand of tyres do you have and how much tread is remaining? Also, when was the Haldex last serviced?

No nothing comes on the dash at all just snap backs as if it is being pushed too much and too much power is going through and takes a second to think where to distrube the power?

mitchellin tyres and have amazing thread.

Haldex was last serviced 42,619 and has now done 50,213 miles

No nothing comes on the dash at all just snap backs as if it is being pushed too much and too much power is going through and takes a second to think where to distrube the power?

Do you know if the DSG is mapped as well?

Sounds like you'd be best taking it to a remapping and getting them to test the power figures. Do you know what map it is running?

Its DSG well semi auto (as you can tell i am not technical at all!)

I have been told its 460BHP.

Can it happen that if i just slap my foot down hard its too much for the car perhaps?

It does sound like the power is overwhelming the torque limits on the DSG box, it could be as simple as you need your DSG remapped which is recommending for those with the 6 speed DSG's, if it hasn't been already (I'm assuming you bought the car at stage 2).

Because it's a Golf R and you're asking GTI/GTD owners you're not going to get the best advice. I'd recommend asking on VWROC https://www.vwroc.com/forums/. Where abouts are you based? I'd honestly look into going to a Reputable Tuning Garage and letting them have a look at it.

Yes I purchased it already at stage 2  and recently moved to leeds from west midlands so shall have a search to check if the map is ok and also if the gearbox is ok but other than that it drives lovely for the last 13 days providing i dont want to plant my foot down
