Congrats on the order BTW! you're among the first to take the leap!

Thanks, quite excited now... The wait will kill me, estimated for April.

Despite being quite a hard choice as there are other cars for the same money that I like and offer more extras as standard, I think having a MK1 and a MK7 together will put a big smile on my face for some time, plus I'm quite excited about having a DSG box for a change.  Whole new daily driving experience.

Right, better get on it.

I had a go in a GT DSG 150 at the weekend and it's a great combination, smooth with plenty of pull and so quiet for a diesel!
Currently pootling around in our family wagen, a Tiguan SEL 😂

Good because that's the Engine and Box combo I'm going for and ordering without testing!  :lipsrsealed:

A long time from now!   April, could be worse, if I went for the Audi I could be waiting up to 6 months!

OK so I went for it.

2.0 TDI 150 SE DSG

Main Features besides the obvious stuff you get with most cars now (many of which I had to read up on to see if they're any good or even what some of them even did!):

Colour is Limestone Grey Metallic as shown in the first post

16" wheels (proabably good for me to down size, I go through tyres quite quick!)

ADC (Automatic Distance Control) including Front Assist, radar sensor controlled distance monitoring system.

Adaptive Cruise Control, works from 0-99-0 mph with DSG box

Electronic Handbrake with Auto Hold (so technically never even need to touch it)

HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist) I believe this replaces the noisier electronic, pedal juddering equivalent.

City emergency and Automatic Post-Collision Braking System

EDL (Electronic Differential Lock)

Speed Sensitive Steering

Driver Alert System (apparently monitors your driving and tells you when you're too tired to drive)

Start/stop function

Tyre pressure monitoring system

Automatic coming/leaving home lighting

Battery regeneration (recuperation - energy recovery during braking)

Eco HMI - choice of three settings, Sport, Eco and Normal

Media System - 5.8" Colour touch screen with proximity sensors.  DAB, CD, SD card reader, AUX in and bluetooth.

Daytime running lights

Auto Lights

Auto Wipers

Auto Dimming Mirror

I think that's it -

P11D Cost for Tax:      £24009.49

Now the waiting game.

That's been the case with every other car I've ever had.  Its only a 5.75 in looks so I'm still looking forward to driving it.

I concur,  these are pretty loaded with spec and that would have been my personal choice in colour as well.  I think i might be a little bit jealous.
