I know there is a new arrivals thread but thought now that the cars are starting to arrive in numbers it might be nice to have a (no spam) list of owners thread, similar to the roll call thread over on a certain other forum.  (see here for the idea: http://www.babybmw.net/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=41089 (http://www.babybmw.net/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=41089))

Hmm kind of.  If the chap who started that thread edited the first post to include this info then it would.  Someone would have to go back over all the replies and PM everyone to find out if they collected their cars yet though as I think few if anyone actually updated their original reply.

That wasn't really the idea... but then I guess I didn't think this through very well!  Photos discussion etc is more for the new arrivals thread.  I suppose this could just go in the first post of the new arrivals too since it doesn't seem very popular...

It better be one day!  Last week I was told "all in order, expect a final confirmation on Thursday" and its Thursday today... no confirmation.

I'm assuming no news is good news as they'd tell me if there was a delay, so he's probably just forgotten to email me.  Or my usual guy is off work with that bug that is going around maybe.  Still, the last five months have left my nerves shot to bits so I can't cope with even the tiniest deviation from plan! :undecided:

If you haven't actually collected (especially if you don't have a date) you might want to refrain from posting until you do.  I'm not going to add entries that are mostly "?" marks and although you might come back and edit your post when you do have a date there is little chance I'll notice, so you'll have to make a new post in any case.

Also, no need to post the full spec, just the car, doors, transmission and colour.  There is a spec thread for all the other options. :tongue:

Really enjoying thanks pal. I've had a few minor niggles but they pretty much have all cleared up now and the car has been great in the last few weeks. Your mpg isn't much worse than mine to be honest, averaging approx 32 just now which ain't brilliant.

well..just ordered my replacement

the three door looked good but was causing problems for my old man as he gets on in age and wants lifts!

so basically the same spec as I have now but in a 5 door
Gti performance pack and dynaudio
but with the benefits of the spec uplift since I bought my first one...keyless with it being a 5 door, winter pack and nav
hopefully a march pickup

Ordered my wife a GTI on 5th December. Dealer says he already has a car in the system he can change the spec on with a build date of February.
Otherwise he reckons a fresh order would be after a March delivery meaning no £1k loyalty bonus.

Hi All. Been lurking for a while, but finally decided to join in! After 18 months away from VW in an A4 Avant (still within group!), I ordered a new GTI at the beginning of November which is scheduled for build next week. So hopefully delivery mid-feb.

Deliberated for ages over PP, DCC and Pan Sunroof, but decided in the end to keep it simple. After reading all the reviews online it seems that the standard suspension setup is pretty well balanced for UK roads (on standard 18s). Almost at the exciting bit where I should start getting more regular progress updates!

Wow, what a collection. They all look really good particularly the latter two, but the scenery in the first pic is stunning.
And better late than never joining in too!  :whistle:
Maybe I'll get less abuse for having had a pretty rapid turnover of cars now as I'm not alone in owning nearly a full set!!

What are your thoughts of them as to how they compare? Maybe start a new thread or put some of your thoughts into the "Full House" thread I posted up a while ago on my own experiences.

Given up is a bit strong. Temporarily diverted is more apt....  :wink:

Complete zebra pattern all over I reckon...  :lipsrsealed: - Just trying to protect some of the gloss on the B pillars, so going to give them a subtle wrap.

Will put some pics up once I've had a chance to clean and generally give it a good tarting up.

Hi folks, I upgraded to a 7.5 GTI (black, DSG) almost a year ago now having previously owned a mk7 GTD (red, manual) and a mk5 GTI (grey, DSG) over the past 10ish years.

Loving the 7.5 although wishing I had gone for the performance pack and some 19s.

That's not a bad price actually, best I've come across is ~1700 on eBay for new 19" Brescias.

My head says to steer clear of diamond cut but they do look great - especially on a black car. I only live a few miles from CM so have been talking to them about pretorias but the current batch is 8.5J and i'd prefer 8J. Would it be wrong to put some gunmetal Reifnitz on a non-TCR GTI?

Thanks, I love the colour, almost got a white one (they look great too) but time I’d made an offer it was sold. Guess things happen for a reason & I’m more than happy with the grey. It’s now cleaned, clayed, polished and waxed. 👍🏼

Picked up, new to me, december 17 (67) registered, black Golf Gti, dsg, 18” Milton Keynes, on Tuesday gone.  Only had it 2 days and I love it already. Would love to maybe do some shows through the year. Used to be well involved in the old school Ford RS scene a good few years ago…. Converted VW man now though!
