All mines got is bloody VID and model 'Golf 16V' - Lazy git at CD Bramhall, Cheltenham in 95, whoever he maybe.

If all else fails you may be able to obtain your paint code from your ( IF YOU HAVE ONE ) local ' FRIENDLY VW dealers parts department , I can normally get most information from mine they can get it of the " VW dialog " computer system chassis No or some times only Reg No required . Customers sometimes seem to mislay their service books or they don't have the relevent stickers in the book or car as some dealers can't be arsed to put them in when doing the PDI s
-
I know where mine is - but what exactly am I looking for????
Is it the last section of numbers? That big white sticker has chassis/engine code details first doesnt it????
-
It should say "Paint Code" on it, if not it will have a code something like LC6V
-
Cheers gibby!
Exactly what my son-in-law told me last night! (BillyVW) He also told me that there should be a sticker in your Service Book with the same info on it!
-
79Ronnie,
Your code sounds like my MK3 GTI and is probably Navy Blue? Anyway, I've got a tin that is the exact match - try LE Went, I think they're Surbiton way. Quote them the part number/code and they'll make an exact match, should cost you about £12.
Does anyone know how to rejuvinate really, really bad faded paintwork? My golf's got a really faded bonnet and roof - I've tried T cut and Colour Majic, it looks cool for a few weeks then goes white again!
Failing that a respray I guess!
-
For anybody with a Mystic Blue car the paint code is - LC5L
-
what's the tornado red code.
I can only read the beginning letter as the sticker's been scuffed.
-

I know that the UK has different names and terms. Since I'm a lousy american, I have one question, WHAT is the "Boot" ? Please inlighten me to this, since I'm still learning how to translate the UK languae to my native tounge. Have any of you seen the new R GTI or the new Thunder Bunny? My thought is, that it's a "Honda Killer" . As you say, cheers.
-
The boot is what I believe you would call the "trunk". From alot of the films I have seen it is where you lot put dead bodies, lol. Have a nice day
-
