Just a quick question for all you guys who recently picked up your cars. Did VW offer any form of 'drive away' insurance?

Its nor so much offered but if you ask as I did they will cover you for 5 days giving time to sort your own out... hope that helps 

Brilliant thank you. My insurance won't let me change my vehicle on the policy so need a means of getting it home before I can sort it.

I don't know which insurance company your with but all I had to do was ring mine give them my new reg number pay £24 fees lol then that's it got my new documents within 10 mins via email... ( Admiral) then when my current insurance is up in October just renews with the Gti...

That seems a bit odd. So in effect you can't change cars mid policy??  I'd bin them. Our insurance company changes cars for free and I do this with the courtesy cars if the dealer are wanting to charge £15 for their own insurance.

Yup. Because my last car was a Beetle and was organised through Herts Insurance (broker who specialise in modded cars) on a 'Beetle' only policy, they say without cancelling and taking out a new policy I am unable to change my car. Typical when I'm into the last two months - which due to paying a big deposit upfront I don't have any more monthly payments. So yeah...stuck in a rut for when the car comes, the policy doesn't lapse until the 28th July either...

Once this weather sorts itself out will give it a proper clean and get some decent pics! 50 mile drive home and loved every second of it even though could barely see for rain/spray!!

Looks a lot better than my handover.
Mine was in the car park with every single piece of protective material still attached ( at my request ).
It was more like doing a drug deal than a car purchase

Lol I did ask for the same as you but sadly was too late. Luckily having snow foamed and cleaned tonight the paint looks very good!

Thanks! Just standard tints. Thought after we ordered that perhaps should have gone for the tints but must say they are very dark as standard and in very glad we didn't get them done!
