Had a quick blast yesterday on some B roads and what can I say: it's an awesome car. It looks fast, it feels fast from the first gear, nothing to moan about. Can't wait to go past 1000 miles to be able to put the foot to the floor and see what she can do.

As a coincidence, today I've got a company car from work over the weekend as I need to travel on sunday (work interest) and it is a 14 plate Golf bluemotion (diesel). Was impresed with the way it accelerates for a diesel. However the difference in feeling at the interior was major compared to the GTI.

Finally took delivery of my GTI yesterday, here are a few photos after the amazing Dan from Carbon Auto Detailing has worked his magic! Already taken it for a quick blast round a few B roads in Surrey and Kent, it really is such an exceptionally enjoyable car to drive.

I thought you had debadged the rear there for a moment when I looked at this photo.

Looking at it again, it does look that way! I think on lighter colours debadging might suit, but certainly with the font I think it looks nice and subtle but imposing too! Managed to get another decent photo the other day too

My dealer put those kind of plates on mine as well with the under-hang. I'm sure it doesn't get in the way of the sensor but it made me paranoid enough to hurry up and put my private plate on.

It definitely doesn't affect the sensor, I've used ACC a few times without issue and the assisted warning has flashed up once at a fairly justified situation so I'm not worried it's affecting it.

Yeah my sensors worked ok as well but just thought it wasn't right that the needless advertising part of the reg plate hung over the sensor cut out!

Car arrived a week ago but it has only just been to be detailed and had protection put on it. I have already put 600 miles under its wheels (keen to get it run in ASAP so I can start to really open it up). I would attach a couple of photos but can’t seem to find the appropriate button.

You need to upload the photo to photobucket or some similar site and then post the link here.

There's a guide here http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=85911.0

After having it for a few weeks and getting it detailed I thought I better post a picture.

Very nice. Do you have your front light tinted, they look very dark?
