Failed on the following...

Fails : Lower steering column universal joint has excessive paly
Lower steering column universal joint insecure
Offside rear breake hose excessively chafed
Centre exhaust section has a mounting that does not fully support the exhaust
front exhaust mount missing
front exhuast has a major leak of gases

advisory:
offside front brake pipe slightly corroded,
nearside rear wheel bearing has slight play
steering system has slight free play detected at steering wheel

tbh im quite happy...
is a steering column a steering rack (silly Q i know but gsf have a steering rack listed for £69...)

thats not to bad is i t
the column is the part that comes from ur steering wheel down thru bulk head then into the top of ur rack
please correct me if im wrong
and if u get stuck i do have a spare colum and rack
and good luck getting it sorted

the insecure bit leads me to think there is a loose bolt somewhere, causing the excessive play bit.  in my experience the joints themselves dont usually go.  could be the outer column bracket itself thats loose?  Need to get under the dash and have a look.

yeah i thought similar.. tightening up something culd stop everything else appearing lose... i'll see how much it'll cost from garage to fix it all... and then i'll weigh up the idea of letting my little brother lose on it as i know he needs the cash!

and all new rubbers underneath will sort the exhaust im sure!!
