Dull paintwork on my mk4

I have a 10 year old mk4 and the paintwork on some parts looks quite dull, I notice it espesially on the doors. What's the best way to get it looking nice again? The colour is grey.

It sounds like it's just old paint faded. It probably needs a complete machine polish to get the sparkle back, you could probably do it by hand but it would take a serious amount of effort. If you wanted to see what results you could achieve by hand, I would recommend Meguiar's Ultimate Compound, i've seen this do wonders on VW paint by hand:

this is in no way undermining what chris has said above but unless you have experience with hand polishing it can and will turn out patchy, have had alot of customers in the past try and tackle things like this and end up ringing myself to sort it properly.

by all means have a go by hand but you may be better off getting a pro near you to do it.

Yep I have to agree with Dan, it is a very hard thing to carry out.

if you want arms like the hulk go for it

to be honest T-cut is sh!te and very hard to work with and i hate it
go to waxamomo's web page and there are plenty of easier to use products which will also give you much better results.

ideally you want a machine polish. I've done it on my mk4 and it looks amazing everytime I wash it. literally like a new car. Here's my Group Buy:

Always amuses me when people ask if autoglym super resin polish will fix something like its a wonder product. I gave mine away as i thought it was terrible compared to other products!

You will need a machine polish mate.
