16v ex manfold

im fitting a mk2 16v in to a mk1 , is there any alternative other than buying a branch ex manifold, the standard mk2 cast manifold fouls on the gear linkage.any one ouut there to shed any light on this ??? ???

Is the 16V exhaust manifold different to the 8V? If not you can fit a Mk1 manifold, but go for a 4 into 2 and not the 4 into 1..............and if you find a 4 into 2, let me know as I'm looking out for one.

no, they are loads different,cos its a cross flow head unlike a 8v
