Just checked - it's a conversion

Volkswagen Golf (1995-99), 3Dr Hatchback 2.0 GTi Anniversary

Found using car valuation website :-)

On the DVLA site it is listed as a 1896cc heavy oil so if it is a conversion someone has done it correctly and changed all the details, unless it is a RHD conversion maybe.
