The all new Cayman is due to be released end of this year so will likely purchase Q1 2012 when the pricing drops.

went to look at the octavia VRS estate blackline

£18700 for a 170 tdi, full leather, sat nab, DAB, plus all the usual golf GTI spec + folding mirrors

they have a deal on with 3 yers free servicing, 3% finance, £500 deposit contribution and no VAT so the car is £18200.

saves £4100 off the rrp. very tempting as the extra space would be really handy.

very tempting. not sure what i would get for my 11 month old gti against it. was £27300 this time last year.

Expect to have your pants pulled down if you are changing the Golf so early. The massive amount of depreciation on the Golf dosn't make the Octavia look so cheap in the grand scheme of things. Also, look at the prices of used Octavia's. In 2 years time, I can see the Octavia being worth not much more than £10k, meaning the 2 cars will have cost you £17k in depreciation in 3 years, or £109 per week, which is an even more frightening figure.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
