I meant a 12v VR6 into your Golf would seem a tad silly when so much of the work needed for a mk4 engine is already done from the 1.8T swap. Putting a VR6 into a Cabrio is awesome though

Not really a 400-500bhp VRT would a great laugh!

Your looking at it wrong though, nothing is a "silly idea", its a bit of fun.

I'll be talking to a few peeps over here soon about the engine. Done a lot of research online, but the guys over here love it and know a lot about it.
Oh yeah, there's nothing silly about the idea. I've no doubt that if anyone on the forum was going to undertake the task and complete it that it would be you. Just saying that your golf has most of the work for a mk4 engine conversion done, so why not try the 24v VR6 instead of the 12v?

Cause I have a 12v VR6 sitting doing nothing. Its no hassle going from a Mk4 engine to a Mk3 engine. I haven't done anything Mk4 specific for the 1.8t, just 1.8t specific stuff which isnt diffcult to remove and put back later.
Ah ok then. I thought you'd be buying a whole engine and starting from scratch. Best of luck with the new direction man, really looking forward to seeing it
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

Life can't be fun if your constantly worrying about money and how hard the work is...
