Alright, it's Good Friday today, so I'm off from work :)

The weather is sh!t as always, but I thought while it wasn't raining I would fit Borbet A's 7.5x16, that I bought last week. Unfortunately, they didn't fit, because the spigot rings that I have on my Lenso's are not the right size

Anyway, left that for later, and fitted my custom tinted Hella Crazy Colors (or Color Magics, whatever!) with green bulbs.

Looks awesome, I like them :)

Now I need to get the right spigot rings for Borbet's and then I will probably fit them next week, as I won't have any free time before that. (or maybe I will, who knows...)

Once the wheels are fitted, the next job will be 60/40 drop on Jamex coilovers, but I'm guessing that will be done end of April or early May.

Ordered the spigot rings (64mm - 57.1) for Borbet's yesterday, so should be getting them Wednesday or Thursday. As soon as I get them, will fit the alloys and take off my Lenso's for sale. (hopefully before the weekend, depending on weather).

Going to a car wash tomorrow, as the car is super-dirty inside and out.

Now I'm thinking what to do with the stone chips on the bonnet, because they look awful

I got 3 options in mind:

1. DIY fix (sand, spray, lacquer) - not sure about this, as the fresh paint may not match properly
2. New bonnet - quite good option, although finding one in the exact color might be a problem + fitting
3. Bonnet bra - easy fix, but costs about 40-50 quid and the fact that it's gonna be full of water doesn't sound good.

Borbet A's are now fitted, and they look niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice  Although, I'm still waiting for centre caps to come, so don't want to take any pics just yet. You'll have to wait a bit

Was kind of bored today, and I didn't know what to do, so decided to "swiss-cheese" the airbox. Took me bloddy half an hour to make all the holes. First I tried to drill from the inside, but then realised it's much easier to drill from the outside  So keep that in mind, if you are gonna do this...

Also I tried to take out the plastic cylinder insde of the top part of the box, but didn't quite manage to do it, lol - so I just left it in.

But I did remove the crappy plastic attached to the wing to allow more air to be sucked in. Anyway, so before putting everything back, took this pic:

Well, obviously this mod is not going to give you any noticable gain in perfomance, but now I can hear quite deep roar in low gears. Sounds good

At the moment, I still have the standard filter, but will get K&N panel filter soon. So that will give even better sound, I believe.

Plans for April/May:

1. Jamex coilovers
2. K&N filter
3. Bonnet

That's it so far. Thanks for following my progress

Sorry guys for not updating the thread for a while, but I've been busy lately...Booked a holiday and was supposed to be away this week, but the bloddy Icelandic volcano decided to get angry at me, so I had to stay :(

Anyway, rebooked my flight, so will be off next week.

The plans still remain the same for May.

Will be getting a new bonnet from VR6Joe, Jamex coilovers from eBay (£200) and hopefully K&N panel filter (about £50)...

Still waiting for the Borbet centre caps to arrive, it's been like a month now  :undecided: Kinda annoying, but whatever.

Would take some pics, but the car is dirty and it's ugly without the centre caps

I'll see you soon guys.

Finally, May update! :)

Ordered Jamex coilovers few days ago, so should be coming this week. Not planning to slam it, but a "sensible" 60/40 drop should be nice.

Was thinking to replace the bonnet, because of the stone chips and a massive scratch, but after some thinking decided to go for a bra. Just waiting to send the payment to Deano, and that should be with me next week as well.

K&N panel filter will have to wait a bit, because I'm planning to get a new distributor, because my mpg is really crap and I got the 00515 error code after VAGCOM scan. Hopefully that will sort the problem.

Went to Halfords yesterday and bought some Autoglym stuff, so today I was polishing/cleaning the car and trying to restore the black color to the trims, as mine were literally grey . Found lots of little scratches here and there, so will get T-cut to get rid of them.

Couldn't resist taking pics after polishing, but still no Borbet centre caps, so anyway:

Kells, I know you like my "4x4 ride", but chill out - coilies are coming :D

Emmmm....Well, probably that's it for now. So here's the "To Do" list:

1. Fit the coilies and lower 60/40
2. Get the bra and hide the stone chips, lol
3. Buy a new distributor and get it fitted

Later on:

K&N filter
Smoothed wipers

Can't think of anything else now...Anyway, enjoy your weekend!

After some calling here and there, the best quote I could get for fitting the coilies was £150. So going to a local garage to get them fitted on Monday. Told the guy to lower it 40mm all around, but anyway, I will adjust it later on, if needed.

Also will need to get the wheels aligned, which will cost another £30.

Some pics...Hope you like my carpet :D

Smoothed wipers arrived on Thursday, so fitted them quickly - 2 min job. Look smart, clean better and no annoying wiper noise. Really useful "mod" for 10 quid.

Today's effort was fitting the bonnet bra. To be honest, I like it (better than looking at my stone chips), but still not 100% sure...Sometimes I think getting a new bonnet would be a better idea. But anyway, we'll see how it goes.

Ok, back to the list:

Wipers - done
Bonnet bra - done
Coilies/lowering - will be done on 17.05.10 (Monday)
Centre caps - coming Monday/Tuesday

Need to buy:

New dizzy
K&N panel filter

I wish I had some proper working place/garage, because I'm eager to get started on removing the rust, but can't do it because of sh!tty weather...but yeah, bodywork is on my list :)

May 22nd update :)

Jamex coilies fitted, finally! Paid £180 for the coilovers, and another £150 just for fitting. I feel like I got ripped off...

Anyway, lowered the car 40mm on front and 20mm on rear. Going lower the wheels start rubbing on the plastic GTI trim, so this is the maximum I can go down without doing any further work. Although, I'm happy with this drop - looks good, drivers well and not too problematic going over speed bumps. So going to leave it as it is.

I will add some pics tomorrow - was busy today, spraying the inside of the new bonnet I got. I figured it's better to fit a nicely done bonnet, rather than mess around with a bra, so here it is:

The other side is already primed, so going to Halfords to get the paint and hopefully get it done tomorrow.

Another thing I was trying to do today is to change the dizzy myself, but ended up just changing the cap, because I tried everything to undo the bloddy bolt, but couldn't get it out, lol...Going to a garage on Monday to get it fitted.

Got the tracking done as well, had camber on the nearside front - fcuking £60. Went to Golden Wheel (http://www.goldenwheel.co.uk) in Park Royal, quite nice place, clean and professional.

More stuff coming tomorrow...

Went to Halfords today to get the spray paint, but they didn't have mine in stock, and couldn't even mix, because the machine wasn't working...Nice! Tried VW, but forgot that they are closed on Sundays. So will try to get the paint during the week.

This is the primed bonnet:

Got the Borbet centre caps, but no bolts, so can't fit them yet...

Loads of people like the flat ones, but I think they look ugly. The hexagons are sexxxy

While I was in Halfords I bought some T-Cut to get rid of some scratches on the car, but most of them are quite deep, so it didn't really help much.

Also I decided to go back to M3 style rear lights, so got those ordered from Germany for about £50. I think it takes about 2 weeks for them to come. Orange bulbs ordered as well.

"Xenon look" sidelight bulbs also on order - they are 233's, in case if you need to know. Emmmm, what else?

Oh, getting the dizzy fitted tomorrow, so that's almost done.

Alright, pics (40/20 drop)!  They're a bit dark, but I promised today, so....

I like it. Although, I'm sure you will say "SLAMMMMM it", but no thanks

Ok, the list:

1. Dizzy - getting fitted tomorrow 24/05/10
2. Centre caps - bolts should be with me this week
3. Bonnet - need the spray paint, probably weekend job, but we'll see
4. M3 lights - around 2 weeks waiting
5. HID look sidelights - this week

Buy:

K&N panel filter (been planning to buy this for long time, lol)
BMW aero rear wiper mod - 20 quid only, so will probably do it soon

That's it for now. Was a proper hot weekend, wasn't it? I was sweating like a pig in the car - no air con, windows down, but wasn't enough  :undecided:

Alright, later guys.

Oook, Sunday May 30th update...

Got the dizzy fitted. Was quite easy. Pretty much a straight swap, although it was stuck, so WD40 was useful :D Just make sure you put it the same way as it was fitted, and then adjust the revs accordingly - rotating the dizzy clockwise drop the revs, anti-clockwise increase the revs.

"HID" sidelights are also on, but they made NO difference at all, so £3 wasted :( Not good...and FINALLY after months of waiting, centre caps are on the wheels. Look awesome, I love them! (the car is dirty, so excuse that...)

M3 style lights arrived on Friday, actually earlier than what I thought, so that's good news :) Now they remind me of my car, when I first bought it, lol

No more rear lights changing - these are staying for sure! :D

Can't spray the bonnet during this loooong Bank Holiday weekend, since I don't have the spray paint. Although, I went to VW on Friday and got it ordered. They said, should be around by the end of the week. The can is 300ml, and I reckoned 1-2 might not be enough, so got 3.

Well, that's it so far, I guess.

1. Spraying the bonnet is "the project" for next weekend probably
2. K&N panel filter might be ordered around next week, depending on funds
3. BMW rear wiper aero mod somewhere in June, I believe...

Also I want to black out the interior bits, i.e. A/B/C pillars, headliner, sunvisors and handles, but not sure if I'm definitely going to do it and whether I will respray or just buy Color Concept pieces.

Chill out.
