Sheesh, isn't this finished yet?

I thought only fitting K-series motors into MG Midgets took this long.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

mk3 golf 16v.

best ones are corrado g60 or passat 16v, shorter ratios. mk3 golf 16v is next best to them. using it with vr6 clutch and lightened abf flywheel. so i should feel a 30bhp boost in performance. obviously there is no increase in bhp, it just gives the feel of that increase.

ohh and as i'm here, might as well state whats on.
car is down at the garage, rear beam is almost rebuilt, just needs polybushes and new hard lines.
looks like car will be stripped down some time next week. waiting to get engine out, so need to wait til my m8 has finished his engine crane. but once its all out, it will pretty much be bolting it all on, most of it is ready to go. couple bits, like the boost pipes will need to wait til engines in and cooler fitted, but otherwise, should be all good.

cheers :)

really? i find the corrado g60 to have cack ratios. 1st and 2nd are too short, and then 3rd is too long lol
S4 Avant. Eibach springs. 18" Avus. RS4 Intercoolers. Viper Tuned. Goes Fast.

its not from personal experience, just what i have found out. think its due to the final drive ratio because shorter than the others, giving better acceleration i guess.

but is it down to personal preference?

ahhh, i dont care, 1.8t is good enough LOL!

OK will get a proper update soon, i promise lol. at work atm, so cant do it now lol.

anyway, got quite a bit done, since its now been actually started. Meaning i am actually doin stuff to the car now lol. i will just give a brief outline for now and get pics up, etc later.

- stripped down, pretty much all parts, subframe, wishbones, etc have been refurbed and hammerited black. got most of the polybushes on the parts.
- car is sanded down and ready to be sprayed matt black. engine bay is sprayed.
- 1.8t fitted with vr clutch and g60 lightened flywheel.
- sorted out flat tyre
- blew up 1.4 engine LOL!
- rebuilt gti rear beam.

hoping to get the car sprayed and all the subframe and brakes, etc all fitted by next week. then its rolling shell.

then after that all thats needed is fitting the engine/box, IC, ordering/fitting boost pipes, sorting out new 2.5" exhaust sytem and getting all the wiring sorted and making it all works as it should.

LL ;)
