almost done. checked the front bearings, just the offside needs doing. played with the suspension bolts to try and get the wheels to have the same camber. dont know what it is, but they are now as similar as i can get them. will get the whole car properly aligned soon.

got the old lambda out (just the 1.4 to plug the hole). access is extremely limited! try getting a 22mm spanner in the gap where the sensor is!! gotta to do it from under the car.

putting the AGU one on now, plug it in and get the wheels back on and see what difference it makes!

:)

mini update.

played with the clutch cable and the shift mech last night to try and improve it. couldnt really get 4th before and now i can pretty easy. it goes into reverse smoother and 1st and 2nd are a little easier to get. 5th is still good. 3rd is similar to before but is a little easier, still need to punch it in and hold it until engaged.

I got the mk4 shift mech i could use. also got a spare vr mech and also a spare g60 box with the in-box mech. so i got spare parts for it, but i reckon it justs need adjusting. i just want to be able to grab each gear with ease!

front wheel bearing really needs sorting, so going to grab a genuine bearing from vw and get a mate to do it. hopefully get that done early next week or maybe this weekend if im lucky.

Oh and getting rims this week too :) will see how bothered i am at the time, but i kinda want to spray them before i put them on. probs end up cleaning them up and throwing them on :D

I'd find both a dead engine or a bonnet in the windscreen quite annoying

having both would be even more annoying

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

wheel bearing is very important!!!!

the bonnet closes, you just need to give it some and so i have a dented bonnet.

oh and looked at the wheel bearing and it turns out the hub nut was slowly coming lose. i tightened it up as much as i could by hand, but will grab a scaf bar or get a garage to air gun it tight, dont want it coming loose again! :D

next - shift mech, oil pressure switch and coolant temp sensor.

I might be wrong but overtightening it will damage it as you could crush the bearing.
