Lowering my ride ...
« on: 26 February 2008, 22:04 »
Hi all,

I'm in deep water here, not sure what to do. I want to lower my car 40/40 but not sure if it is possible to do myself?!?!
Can I just buy a hottuning lowering kit and fit it myself or is it harder?

Cheers

LL ;)

might need an extra pair of hands, to compress the springs to get the old off?

So can I simply just take off the old ones and put the new hottuning ones in. My m8 will give me a hand, I'm not strong enough! haha!

Is there anything that I should replace while I'm at it, that may improve handling or would be just good to replace?

Cheers for the reply m8

its also wise to replace the top mounts while your fitting them oh and you'll need a tracking check/adjust at least.. add another £60 to the total

Tracking should be done but more importantly your camber will be out!   I had realy problems undoing the top mount nuts, I needed to use a powerfull air gun because the shock just span!   Drop into your local garage and ask them nicely to bang them off and on a few times so its loose ready for you to do the job.  every thing else will be a doddle
