Hood Hydraulics

rightyo... did a bit of a check and top up on the hood today as well as lubing all the joints

I followed Madone's advice in this thread... topping up cabriolet fluid

but there was a big difference between the fluid level when open (max) and when hood closed (below min) - this doesn't seem right to me?

also... devised a neat, very accurate, little method of topping up the reservoir... used a pump and a couple of tubes that I had lying about in place of a funnel, which I didn't have lying about...

the hood appears to be functioning very happily... just wondered if the levels are being reading correctly?

The difference will be the rams being open and then closed, from memory the fluid level will rise when open as the rams are closed, with the hood shut they open and take the fluid.

Hope this makes sense
