Not a problem, makes a change to be helpful as mk1's are few and far between on here.

Yes, really easy to remove but I'm unsure if all models have them, I think they changed to something intergrated and more heavy duty on later models or 16v GTIs with O2A boxes??    Just look in the nearside of a mk3's engine bay, quite low and close to the bulkhead for the part pictured above, it's only held in by two split pins.

I reckon its not on Vr's or valver mk3s as they have a cable change box. 8v gti has rod change and I think that will have the weighted shifter

Yeah thats it... ABF's and VR's have the above. 8v GTI and lesser models have what you need.
