Problem is
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=182015.new#newAs for the update .
Mr F was here quite early so we crack on.
Anti roll bar turned out to be a tw4t - i sheared one of the INNER bracket studs - see above link , then guy sheared one of the other studs
One All.
But finally it was off and not in that bad condition.
Next up were the lower arms, a relative easy process as the 2 main bolts had been loosened last time to make sure the captive nuts didnt spin
then the front struts came off swiftly and were taken into work to have the springs removed, and THANKFULLY the main nutz came off with a spot of gentle encouragement from Mr Hammer.
The inserts were fooked and had leaked a LOT, the top mounts were fubar'd and the ball joints arent very ball like.
So, next up was a spot of cleaning for Mr F, and he has taken the front struts away to give them a new lick of paint
That was about it for today as i tw4tted my back into the vice on the workbench and was liable to get Mr Hammer out again
And a few piccies
Shiney Bitz
Look mum, no suspension
and he makes a good scrubber
Next up, fix the issue
buy some more bits and then rebuild
