Starting Problem
« on: 10 March 2010, 19:13 »
Right!

The head gasket went on my digifant 8v the other day, today got it all back together, set the timing up then went to turn the key, but nothing..??

the fuel pump primes on one turn then on second turn to start the car it just makes a humming/buzzing noise as if the fuel pump is priming again?

best way i can describe it is that my starter motor isnt connected. but this was not touched when changing the head gasket and i have checked it and it all looks fine.

the only other thing is i have a clifford immobilizer, however i did not disconnect my battery for the whole process and it looks like its working as it should

any ideas would be great!

cheers,

Grant

run a chunky wire from the battery to the red/black wire terminal, engien should crank over.  if so, this points to wiring fault or a problem with the immobiliser.
