Every car has issues, but it’s the corner cutting and poor quality components on what is supposed to be a premium brand that drove me away from JLR. I always wanted a GTI, so it made sense on many levels to swap over. Build quality on my GTI is so much better than on my Discovery 4.

Hard to say what truly is a "premium" brand though these days. All of the ones you'd consider to be are trading on their past (even if their past isn't actually as good as people remember...)

Probably the best made cars are from brands you'd not consider premium at all - Hyundai and Honda for example.
