Went to polish the rear bumper where I removed the mudflaps, realised the paint is damaged because of them so I'll need to get the rear bumper blown in at some point, which will be when stone chip damage takes it.

So just gave the car a good clean inside and out and put a bit more Detail Spray on it as it really helps keep the ceramic clean and polished the exhaust tips.

Also discovered a dent in my drivers door, clearly from someone in another car. I think it's too shallow to fix so I'll just have to live with it.

I’d get the dent done by one of the paintless dent removal guys, wont cost much and it would annoy me no end - especially on a stunning car like yours

Spent the weekend dealing with stone chips on the rear suspension arms followed by waxoil on the arms before fitting the aerofoil trims on the 7.5 gti. Hopefully no more chips or rust that are a pain to sort on the mk6 now it is 11 years old. Cleaned and painted the wheel hubs while wheels were off. Anyone fitted any underbody trays to a 7.5 gti?

Thanks for the reply sootchucker- just fitted those. Interested in the underbody panels in front of the rear suspension that you have also fitted in your picture. Do you have part numbers for those please?

Replaced vwr springs with vogtland. A big improvement on handling i.e turn in, progressive and not as crashy
over bumps. Overall excellent.
Old, but a serial modder!

There are two pieces in that photo. The one that covers the exhaust as it approaches the rear suspension, and a forward one that cover the front part of the exhaust near down pipe at the front. Some better views of them over on my build thread at Detailing world - https://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=405408&page=13

This is what was required:

Thanks Sootchucker. Really helpful. Notice you had the full front exhaust cover. Does that cover the front cat or is yours on the downpipe?
