Title: Spare wheel retaining bolt for mk8
Post by: And5 on 15 April 2024, 17:36
Anyone know where I can get one? I’ve been told that mk7 bolt won’t fit.

I’m pretty sure that these are the same fitment across the VAG group, the only difference will be the length, which varies depending on size and type of spare wheel, and wether or not there is a subwoofer fitted at that location.

I bought a new large plastic ‘screw’ for a Mk7 from eBay. It was advertised as a Golf7 space saver lock down kit. It fitted perfectly in my Mk8, along with the 7.5 wheel, tools and tool holder. It was £21 and came with the screw collar retaining ring. I just had a look but the seller isn’t on eBay currently but there are others  for around £18 and one gives the part number as 1K0803899D.

Worth enquiring at your local TPS and quoting that part number, they could well be cheaper.
