The roof seal on my '97 VR6 is just starting to lift on the passenger's side.? ?Thinking I could pick one up for ?20 or so, I phoned VW only to find that a new one will cost over ?100. I was amazed, so phoned GSF only to find they sell them for around the same price. Both said it was due to 'low demand'. Seems a hell of a lot for a strip of rubber!
Any ideas as to how I might make a 'repair' (i.e stick the lifted section down) until I can bring myself to fork out the cash for a new one? Or perhaps somebody knows somewhere that sells them a little cheaper?
Alternatively, there must be some kind of adhesive that wouldn't harm the paintwork?? The car hasn't leaked in all the recent heavy rain, but I'm worried it might start to if I leave it any longer.
