After polishing yes, as when you are polishing you are removing any wax.

Wax is a personal preference, but try the purple dodo Juice or the newer Autoglym designed for modern / darker paints.

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.

what organisys said... you need to keep your paint waxed in order to protect it... you don't however need to polish it every time you clean your car...

so spend time doing one proper clean, polish and wax every couple of months or so and in between you can just do a quick two bucket wash and go

also - have you clayed your car... this will drastically improve your results

wax is a personal thing... depends on what your budget is... collinite is a very good wax for the money

guy, i clayed the car about 6 weeks ago, made u huge difference to the car.

i tend to normally polish the car after i wash it. was using mer previously, but found it to be quite a hard polish and was chalky.

after i clayed the car, i used the meguirs 3 step and was impressed with the results (apart from the wax).

try a decent hard wax... you'll notice the difference between that and stage 3 of the megs...

you're not being a pain

trouble is lots of people will recommend lots of things

my faves at the moment are

collinite 915 as a hard general purpose wax

chemical guys 50/50 as a finishing wax
http://www.chemicalguysuk.com/Carnauba_PASTE_WAX_Limited_Edition_5050_Paste_Wax_p/50-fslash-50.htm

both of which provide very good results...  especially when combined with their respective sealants

depends on your budget...swissvax is very good stuff but pricey

dodo juice is good stuff too... good vfm

spend a bit and you will see the results... generally the higher the carnauba content the better the wax
