Cheers ppl

Giffy, i'm in South London mate. A Turbo is a nono, insurance quotes where coming up at
£2000 & higher, even found a nice little turbo for £3700.

I'm going to view a car tomorrow, it's a dark blue 99, 1.8 GTI, 75k, alarm & some other stuff. It's at a dealers
for £4995 but he said he'll take £3850 which is still high so i'll try to get him down some more.

thats some come down on the price   be a little cautious with that one mate; a dealer knocking that much off could mean there's something not right about it......

Sorry for the long link.

How old are you!?

I dont want to burst your bubble but your insurance is going to be astronomical on a GTi 1.8T. I can only asume your 17/18/19 and having just past your test you will be lucky to get anything less thatn £2000 - £2500 for the year.

Had any quotes?

I was quoted £3500 being 19 an driving for 1 year on a 1.8T

It's not a 1.8T, i thought of getting one but couldn't get anything under £2000 TPO!
A 1.8 GTI mind, i've got quotes for around £1000 which isn't too bad.

you're going to struggle finding a 1.8 20v as they were only produced for 2 years due to being quite pony.

have you thought about the 2.0 8v or GT TDI 110 / 115 (depends on year) which are both group 10 and similar performce to the 1.8 20v
