how to program a mk4 gti key!!

Same old question, but could not find the answer.
Just taken delivey of my new toy along with a spare key which gives the error imobalisor activated on the dash.
Do we have a solution?..............

Hi - Have followed the thread and the car made the right noices but with not much luck, the key now remotly locks the car and it does start  (did not drive it, in the garage)  but the same message comes up 'imobilis activated'. I am sure there is a solution.

What exactly have you done so far?

You NEED Vag Com to code in the immobilizer chip in the key.

Hi - in my initial question the was the below thread on how to program a second key.

it was followed but as quoted i am still getting the message on the dash.
I have vag com 409.1 from my mk3 days, what do i need to do as the second key that came with the car is an original and a pitty to waste if can be used.

Did you manage this? I got a second hand fob, new blade etc and then the local VW dealer refused to program the immobiliser for me! If you can do it with VAGcom let me know
