All I'm trying to establish is whether VW are swamped or simply that I have a issue with my dealer.

when i picked my car up earlier this month, after waiting 17.5 weeks for it, my dealer said good job you didn't order now as the wait would be even longer because of high order volumes etc etc.  so you may be waiting longer than others.  keep hassling your dealer though, he will get sick of it and will try to push the order through quicker.

Crikey!  I picked mine up on 17th September having waited 10 weeks.  And it would have been nearer 9 if I hadn't gone on holiday just at the crucial moment.

And I got £2,000 discount over and above the £2,000 scrappage deal.

5-door
Pearlescent paint job
DSG
ACC
Sunroof
Winter pack
Luxury pack
Flat tyre indicator (well, it was cheap....)

I'll tell you who my dealer was if you like....

Ordered Aug 20th not had my build date yet
Was told delivery late nov/early dec.

Keep in mind alot of dealers pre-order cars and just change the specs when they actually get an order so the relationship between date ordered and build date is not always clear. Also some dealers say they have allocation left and don't and simply put you on the following months order or when they have allocation and stall you.

Good grief!!  I ordered mine 7th July as well (OK, provisionally - I confirmed it over the phone on 8th July).

Build week 35, picked it up on 17th September and got several hundred miles on the clock by now.  If I hadn't had a holiday booked from 8th to 15th September, I could have had it maybe a week earlier.

And I have a sun roof (though not the phone prep, but frankly, how hard can that be?).

What's your dealer playing at?

Rolfe.

Ordered mine near the end of July, build week 40 for me.

Ordered July 7th - No buid date yet.

No build date yet??  I was given my build date on 28th July, three weeks after placing my order, as I said, same day you placed yours.

Got the car 10 weeks after placing the order, might have been nearer nine if it hadn't been for my holiday dates.

Had it for nearly 2 weeks now.
