Picked mine up today -1st ever GTi 😊

Congrats Phil, what do you think of it?

*********************************

Yesterday, which is almost today, I made a discovery.
Now I live out in the sticks I can get 41mpg average for most of my night time commute whilst stuck behind a dawdling oaf doing 35 mph all the way.
Yes, I was so bored I had the average MPG display up in the MFD.

I did say most of the journey.

Unfortunately when I got into the city I seemed to upset an R driver by overtaking him on a challenging bit of a dual carriageway (hi if you’re reading this!) bend.

This led to another discovery.
A manual Clubsport driven by a semi geriatric is massively slower off the line and slower full stop than a Golf R. I’m guessing it was DSG because he left me for dead.

Oh and my average consumption dropped 9 mpg after that childish spat

I promise to behave from now on.

That's a bugger Rebecca. It happens tho'. At least it's an easy fix, basically bolting new things on. No paint needed either as the mirror cover comes ready finished.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

It does happen Simon. It’s going into the bodyshop tomorrow afternoon to have the work done so should have it back all fixed on Friday hopefully.  The ambulance service have confirmed one of their crew filed a road traffic collision report and have logged it with their insurance so I should get reimbursed.

Booked the car in for first thing in the morning to hopefully replace the light switch. Got in the car tonight to drive home from work and had light error, went to turn light switch and the switch literally dropped out with broken bits of plastic everywhere. Never ever touch the light switch either so must have been broken for nearly two years without realising

It went into bodyshop yesterday for replacement wing mirror and driver’s side window.  Picked it back up this lunchtime all fixed.

From this

To this!

Ambulance service confirmed one of their paramedic crews reported a collision so they should reimburse me the cost.
