im 21, a uni student in aberystwyth, had an inisurance quote for ~£700 which isn't too bad i guess! :undecided:

Hey fella, welcome,
I'm in West Wales too, choice on Mark 3's aint going to be great! Especially 16 valvers in your price range! I ended opting for an 8v, low mileage which I got, funnily enough, from Aber!!
Not to knock your idea, just offering some advice. Keep an eye on Classified section and obvious Ebay and Pistonheads sites. Don't be afraid to ask Mark 3 section lot about cars your looking to buy. They are not afraid to give their opinion!!

yeh i know what ya mean! ive been looking from my north devon postcode, and obv on ebay and the like, im not too fussed bout travelling to get the cars, any excuse 4 a road trip
my buddy had a 16 valver in bristol, but cudn't afford to run it, damn students eh? lol
anyways cheers for the heads up fella

oh and p.s
the £700 was an insurance quote ....
gnna have around £1200 to spend on the car itself
-
Well £1200 seems pretty realistic! Might be worth watching out for one for sale of one of the forum regulars as you are likely to get a better car for your money!
Post up on the Mark 3 section that your looking for a Valver, see what people say, they are a great bunch on there!
Also the mark 3 maintenance section has a buying guide bit which is well worth a look to stop you spending your money on something duff!
Good luck mate
