So with the same rational, you would not knowingly buy a RWD car that you know will end up beached on the driveway?
Like, say...a BMW with wide rear tyres?
A car that is known to be utterly useless in snow?

Theres no way you should buy a BMW, stick to a 2wd golf they are excellent in the snow.
For the 1 or 2 days a year we get snow I can have a BMW which is better at everything for the othe 363 days of the year. Even if I had a golf gti again I doubt I would take it out in the snow anyway for fear of smashing it into a kerb.
It's all about geography I suppose and I am very lucky.
