Hey all,
Firstly, sorry for the noob question.
Please anybody know if the rims Brooklyn 225/40 R17 7.5J ET49 from the VW mark7 GTI will fit my stock Golf VII Variant with any issue? (offset, suspension strut clearance, poke out, etc.)
I bought the Golf VII Variant recently and I fell in love with these rims when I saw them on GTI for the first time so this is just a must-have for me :)
Many thanks

Welcome!
Yep should be a straight fit, but you may be thinking of the Austin alloys in 18inch, depending on where you are you may struggle to get the Brooklyns as they're a North American alloy.
Austins for reference

North American alloy? These rims were standard on the Gti at launch in Ireland, for reference I have to upgrade the spec to the 18" Austins. They were standard in the Uk , but not elsewhere in Europe. Same for xenons etc etc

Welcome Andrew
As above, the wheels will fit fine but the tyres will need to be 225/45/17 not 40 profile :afro:

The 18s were, but OP was talking about 17s.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.
I made a mistake, tyre profile is 45, not 40, thanks Exonian :) I got those Brooklyn rims today with those mentioned summer tires (to be honest there were a few offers available for these rims)...so now I just need to wait for spring/summer to try them :)

Yes and so am I. The 17's were standard in Ireland and other european countries, not the 18" Austins which were an option. Still wondering what a north american alloy meansb

Really? I've never seen a Gti in Ireland with them. Some markets got different alloy options, I could be thinking of the mk5 though

Yes really. They were the standard alloys on every MK7 in the Republic. Austins were an option.
