Finally got my 0024 plaque from dealer today, now where to put it….. most peoples I’ve seen seem to be on the side when you open the drivers door, but for me why keep it hidden with a door closing on it. My preferred choice at the moment is just by where your left knee sits kinda right side of the gearbox column.

Would it fit in the cubby above the wireless phone charger where that rubber mat with the "GOLF" logo is? That would be a nice spot for it imo. Or maybe on the silver trim that runs across the dashboard, might fit on that on the passenger side.

Cubby hole defo not, I dabbled with silver trim dash and almost chose it, looked good from drivers side but sitting in passenger side the lines were all messed up. I found another place which I am happy with….

Ah yeah that looks very good! Much better than on the side of the dash anyway.

Seems many have got it with the car, I had to wait a little for it to arrive at dealer but not sure if that’s because I was one of the first deliveries. But no you do not have to order it, should be an automatic thing.

Well, not everything about the ed50 is fun and joy, it seems.
My car is 2 weeks old and has develloped an irritating glitch in the infotainment: on startup you can hear the audio creaking and then the sound starts cuttting out. It keeps doing it, no matter how long the drive, no matter what source. It doesn't happen every drive, let's say 1/3. One time I also got warnings that everything related to the front assist wasn't working, but that recuperated after a few minutes.
The only thing to get the audiosystem to perform normal again is to do a hard reset.
After searching the net and this site for a while, it seems a very well known problem that exist since the introduction of the mark8.
Comming from two Hyundai i30n's that is very disappointing. Those cars could practically do the same as the Ed50 and never missed a beat. The little things that where a bit annoying in the pre-facelift where all corrected in the facelift and worked flawlessly.
A carmaker like VW should do a lot better. Any new car should work properly, but when they ask +60000€ for a Golf and have had about 5 years to correct all the flaws I wasn't expecting this...
