Being new to my car I decided to remove the silica gel pouch from the coolant reservoir and cable tie the bonnet release cable box.
I was too late with the silica gel pouch. I got it out and it seems complete but there’s silica gel stuck in the reservoir so I’ve ordered a replacement. I did remove it and I tried to clean it out.
I’m getting the system flushed when the cambelt is done at the end of this month.

I took the car for a run and got a low tyre pressure warning. The tyres are fine and I reset the sensors.
The vehicle information display between the clocks isn’t showing any data.

After 7 and a half years I have finally had to order a new battery.

Car didn’t start on Friday. I jumped it and gave it a long run, but that hasn’t worked, it was dead again yesterday morning.

Ordered a Bosch EFB from an online company called batteries on the web.

I’m only using the car once a week now, after pretty regular use for the first few years but I’m pleased to have got over 7 years from the original.

Using up a service plan and booked tomorrow at vw dealership. Courtesy  car wash now costs £8.99 for dealer to wreck paintwork, with a full power jet wash!  It all gets worse after an audi dealer near me charged a neighbour for disposal of used service parts!

My 2014 GTI is in for a new Inlet Manifold as my flaps were sticking,it has had a walnut clean as well while it was off. But now No4 injector needs to be replaced before it goes together.

Also one of the coolant pipes has had a leak and is also being replaced. .I could smell coolant but after 5 water pumps I was used ti it I guess.

Want and had my passenger side top mount replaced (After putting two new ones in, in October), as the squeaking was driving me crazy.

Turned out both weren't in correctly, easy mistake to make as the mk7 top mounts do need to be orientated correctly. So one replaced and the other rotated and it's all good

Useful info for future reference Willni.
Just had brake fluid changed. Surprised that quite a few garages use generic standard dot 4 brake fliud when  most modern cars with abs and esp require dot 4 lv specification. "We use the brake fluid required for your car". Oh no you don't!! Could this be a safety issue for the uninformed?
