They look class. Any link to where purchased preferably in Eire?
You'll have to contact Jason of Arch Guardian. He sells direct as far as I know. The rear sets are going to be available asap too.

Front and rear ordered and in post today.

Nice, I'll have to message him, to order the rear set.

Golf mk8 / Re: What have you done to your mk8 today?

Hi Paul - I see yours is a Peter Cooper/Hampshire reg car is that where abouts you are based?  Can you share where you took the R for it's 4 wheel allignment pls (as my Mk 7.5 GTI PP needs doing)

No worries, but I had the alignment done in Warwick as I travel past there when I travel for work. I had it done at Spires Technologies. I know Regal in Southampton do fast road alignment, if you’re local to Southampton.

Mine has been in 3 times, previously they applied lithium grease which worked for 1 day. Took in today as they said they were going to replace the suspension bushes but after looking at these they said they were not defective so couldn’t replace so they applied more grease! Obviously the noise is coming from somewhere else. Won’t hold my breath the grease will cure it

General discussion / Golf R
« Last post by Guycav87 on 29 May 2024, 19:34 »
Hello All

My Golf R is currently in the dealership for a new steering wheel and wiring loom change for the SOS and travel assist sensor fault.
my car also has a noise when braking to a stop, like a wooshing noise from the left front and a shuddering feel through the brake pedal and a vibration through the steering wheel at 70mph.
im wondering if anyone has experienced the following noise, unfortunately i cant see an option to attach an audio to this post.
VW Swansea are sending the audio to VW Germany to establish what it is so not ideal.

Bit of welding wire or a coat hanger stuck through it and wrap it in heat tape to prevent knocking.

Anyone know if an auxiliary belt problem sounds like an old fan belt slipping? Like a fast whirring, screeching that goes up and down with engine load/speed?

I waiting for a diagnostic tomorrow morning.

Seems to be an interesting array of different supposed OE shocks here. Sachs, Bilstein are common names. Monroe and starline?
Although I'm not there yet I was thinking about possibly going with koni Special active dampers when the time comes. They seem to be quite well regarded. My only issue is that it would potentially classed as a mod on insurance as it's not OE spec.
Back when I modded my 2003 Ibiza sport 130 I'd got a weitec suspension kit which KW owned and have now rebranded as ST suspension. It was great, everything about it was better. Original suspension was really crashy. The weitec was a smoother ride and had less roll with about 30mm drop. Strangely felt a lot more like my brother's cupra of similar age. Not sure why the sport suspension was a worse ride than the cupra.
