What to use for polished alloys?
« on: 11 September 2010, 16:25 »
I will be getting my TT wheels back soon all polished up. What would be the best thing for me to use to keep them fresh? I've got Collinite 915, would that be any good?

for ease of use and maximum protection id suggest either:

jetseal 109 x2 layers followed by collinite 845 x2 layers,

or

fk1000p x2 layers followed by collinite 845 x2 layers

or

i would recomend the Aquartz paint protection kit but its for pro use only due to its specific application prep/procedure etc so thats a no go im afraid.

what ive listed above will give your rims good protection as long as you keep them clean and top up the wax over a period of months, the jetseal or fk1000p will protect them from uv rays, contaminents, etc etc
and collinite 845 is a great long lasting wax and due to its fluidy nature in application its very economical if you just used it on your wheels.

i used collinite 845 on my gti rims and they stayed cleaner for longer and were a doddle to clean literaly need a light wipe with wash solution and no need for heavy degreasers, tfrs, wheel acids etc

also plenty of protection will prevent them from corroding.

hope this helps.
