WHEEL ACID ON GLASS
« on: 20 April 2010, 14:29 »
HELP

Stupidly & completely by accident i sprayed wheel acid on my front and rear windscreen's . Fortunately i reolised pritty much straight away and washed it off, but alass it had time to slightly burn / etch in and left faint cloudy "run" marks in the glass. I would attactch pictures but the marks are so faint they dont come out on camera.

Does anyone hav any idea's? will it machine polish out? so i simply need new glass?

The old saying i could kick myself doesnt come close

a windscreen/automotive glass specialist may be able to advise you on this, you might be looking at new glass im afraid as buffing windscreens is not good as when it rains the water will bead and when the wipers hit it the beads get smaller and smaller and mist across your screen which is dangerous.
