What compounds and pads do i need?

Hi guys,

ive got a orbital sander and a few key marks on the car which go down to the primer.

Was hoping to cover this up with touch-up , wet sand it level, then polish it out.

Can anyone recommend what pads and compound i need?

Also do i need a backing plate?

you can buy backing plates with velcro to stick the different pads on or you can buy pads that are fixed/glued to the backing plate.
i used evo fine when i did mine (see my scratch/chip repair thread, stickyd at the top of the detailing section)
and a soft red pad.
