Title: MK4 Golf Oil Coolant Warning Light : Cars having a mad one....
Post by: Ohan on 04 October 2009, 13:56
Right ok, so picked my mk4 golf 1.8t up a week ago and the ol' boy i bought it off had just cained "a bit of oil" in as he said, now me being me wasn't really phased by this. Now my oil coolant warning light is flashing on and off 3-4 times a day now which has been over the past two days, getting less frequent mind. Theres enough coolant there, running slightly cold... Could this have anything to do with maybe a mix off different oils? I don't know what he'd put in there before lol could it be a case of compounds mixing and hating each other?
like working as 2 seperate compounds rather than 1.... :S and should i run it for a few days and let stabalise?

Or is it something completely different, maybe thermostat, sensors up the creek? mehhh any advice would be absolutely fantastic... Pretty clueless right now
