Title: Strange road noise.

If you have a road noise that sounds like a wheel bearing has gone, Check your tyres before you buy new bearings!!

The tyres can develop the "50p shape" on the inside edge that WILL sound like a wheel bearing fault.

Unlike a wheel bearing fault you can drive out of it ( only happens at certain speeds) and it does not get worse when turning.

You will be able to feel the shape on the inside edge of the tyre.

This usally happens on the rear tyres on front wheel drive cars and it really depends how you drive, what pressures you run and the make of tyre!
