Central Locking
« on: 05 January 2022, 18:03 »
I have a Mark2 Golf GTi 3 door which I have found is missing the Central Locking pump and the pipe that goes to the pump. On closer examination (with the door cards off) it would appear the cobra alarm (which is now disconnected) may have operated the central locking as it looks like it has (as a mechanic said "Cheap Chinese Parts) to operated the central locking previously probably via the cobra. I am wondering how much of a job and cost it would be to reinstate the old system or just to put a new system on it and if so what system should I be looking at? Thanks Gary

Most aftermarket car alarms use a slave unit inside the door to help lock and unlock via the fob. Is this unit missing on yours or not working? Have you completely removed the alarm? You can either source the genuine pump and pipe or buy a simple remote dppr opening systm.
