No, correct 17" tyre size for the Mk4 is 225/45 R17

Hmm, thought the 215's on mine looked a bit skinny, will be fitting 225's next time, or may change and have the 215's for my scoobie.

How wide are the S/M's? 7J??
If 7J, then 215 will hardly be a 'stretch' (God, I hate that look, LOL!
) You can safely fit 205 tyres on 7 J.

Yeah the Santa's are 7J x 17. You can fit 215 on them but the speedo will be slightly out.
