Out of interest what other short runners are you looking at?
SP seem to have the market by the balls with theirs.

Looks great mate. Didn't see you over in Worthersee though? Would have been great to see it.

I'm actually on the short runner quest too. Although SP certainly wont be on the list. I've not been looking into them for any kind of power gains, but purely for boost pipe routing. Since the SP intake runners dont use velocity stacks inside and everyone seems to be doing ok with them, I'll be tig welding up my own using the bottom part of the VR inlet so it keeps the standard injector rail.

The thing for me is just not being able to justify spending 1000+$ on what is essentially a bit of square tubing welded to a standard inlet. I'll make my own and to the size/style i'd like for 10% of the cost. If the SP's used velocity stacks it would be another matter, but I think they would really only be of benefit to a NA engine. I don't think its quite as much of an issue when under boost.

Worthersee was amazing. Didnt take the mk3 in the end went for a more economical form of transport lol.

As I said above in my previous enjoyable conversation   the SP intake was purely at the top of my list for looks but the $1100 plus import n shipping wasn't going to happen. I've looked at a few others, hpa I believe but didnt like where the throttle body mounts. Below the intake is where I will be hiding my coilpack. A few on eBay (uk n German) look promising I'm mainly after the throttle body being on the right of the bay.

Got a bit more done yesterday. Only a few bits left and then I can pull the engine out.

And the sorry state of a engine bay. Got my work cut out for me again. I'm sure I said when I smoothed the bay in the mk2 that I wouldnt do this again

Morning all,

If you follow me on Instagram 'NATHAN_WHITE_444' you will have allready seen what I was upto yesterday. For those that haven't here goes:

Been talking to 1 of the nicest blokes I've met for the last week discussing what he was selling. After agreeing on a price and knowing what I was driving to see I dragged the misses and babe into taken me on a 3hr trip to the south cost. Was it worth? Defo

Yep I'm now the owner of venoms ex pvw featured mk3. It was a vr6T but that sadly gave up on Toby so he replaced it with a R32. What a bloke ;)

It's now on my schmidts but all I can say is what a drive home. That noise
