Hello everyone,
i am new on the forum and would like to ask a question concerning the rear main oil seal on my mk2
8v gti. Has anybody changed one recently as the one i have been told was the correct one does not
fit flush and flat to the block! on taking the old one off i noticed that it was flat to the block but the new seal is a little different with a raised rubber strip on the backside of the flange so i'm thinking it would be very difficult to get a good seal against the block......does anybody know of a seal with flange that has a flat surface along it's back side? any help would be appreciated thanks Andy :sad:
