-
you dont have to do a thing to them. I did the how to on fitting then on ukmkivs it shouldnt take you more than an hour tops to do both side. dont know how to add the link.
-
the thing that puts me off is the rubbish visibility after
do look good though
-
please have ago a posting the link as if you think it doesnt take long i am going to get some cheers gordon

Pm'ed you back mate.

They're not hard at all. i followed the guide on uk-mkivs, the first side took a bit longer than expected but once i knew what i was doing i had the other side done within 20mins.
Me and BaV Went to get a mirror from the breakers and i had it off within 5 mins. its simples!

took me 30mins to fit my lupo wing mirrors didnt use a press as well!
-
Is it just a case of takin mk 4 mirror casing off and screwin the lupo one bk on?
-
all you do is swap the bigger golf wing mirror arm with the smaller lupo mirror arm then screw the golf mirror motor back to the lupo arm then clip/scew the rest of the lupo miror bit to the lupo arm, job done lupo wing mirrors on a golf!
-
Wot about the base plate on the lupo? They the same as the golf?
-
no there different!
-

Fitted a set of Seat Arosa mirrors to mine last week, Took about an hour from start to finish & even converted them from Manual mirrors to Electric ones.
As for the visibility my Arosa drivers side mirror is convexed & has a Blind spot part on it so good visibility all round
Well worth the effort
-
no there different!
Are you being funny?
The base plates are the same lol...
And, I didnt use my golf mirror spring on the arm of the mirror, I used the Lupo ones.
-
not being funny barry  the base plate are nt the same thats why you have to take the lupo mirror apart!
-
Is it easier to use manual ones or electric ones?
-
Queue a rush to get down the local scrappy for a set now

They were manual ones & easy to convert to Electric ones just by following this guide
http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/291549.aspx

The base plate? as in the part thats on the door? i'm sure they're the same? or are Lupo/Arosa ones smaller in some way?
-
yea thats the base plate, they are smaller and a different shape!
-
I don't understand how the golf arm fits inside the lupo casing? Also does the lupo manual mirror havin mounting points for the golf arm / motor?
-
the golf arm dosent fit inside the lupo casing!! the lupo arm fits on the golf base plate!
-
Read the guide it shows the mirrors stripped down & taking the the original arm off the base plate & leaving the mounting pin & then fitting the Lupo mirrors (Complete with arm) onto the MK4 base plate.
-
Lmao just got it lmao
-
Think if I do this mod will get electric lupo mirrors lot less hassle tbh lol
-
it will be the same Hassle if you get the electric or manual!
-
Get the manual ones, They will be cheaper to buy & its 3 screws to make them into electric when you swap the motor off your mk4 mirrors
-
Been on phone to breakers today less than £50 for the pair nt bad
-
whats the point ??????
-
They look better?
Whats the point of fitting different alloy wheels or R32 bumpers?
-
I hate you lot with decent breakers near you...
Jonny I might have to get you to look for something for me
-
Looks like I'm adding another mod to my list
-
not adding it to my list though, they are to small for me. I'm quite happy with my Mk5 mirrors

-
like those mk5 mirrors aswell have you had the orignal indicators whole blanked of, also did you just run you wire from the indicators to mirror to wire the lights up mate
-
I bought some wing blanks that are meant for the facelift Sharan and had them sprayed, the wires for the indicators run to the hazard switch
Technically they aren't from a mk5 as they have different baseplates and wiring, they are from the Brazilian Mk4.5 which used mk4 doors with mk5 mirrors, making them plug and play
-
Ah I c wes
