Could someone please tell me if the 7.5 ever came in a non-pearlescent black?
Or are all the black 7.5 GTI's Deep Black Pearl?
Info appreciated! Cheers!

No, not in the UK anyway.
There was a non-pearlescent colour called Black Rubin, but it wasn't really black. It was more like a dark purple-ish browny colour.

Ha ha. Ok, thanks.
Looking at adverts, some say 'Black' some say 'Deep Black' and others say 'Deep Black Pearl' so was just trying to understand if they were different (i.e. non-metallic/solid).
Thanks for the reply.

I think the last time VW offered a solid / ‘flat’ black on the Golf was on the mk6.
This is Black Rubin, that @Guzzle describes quite accurately as a dark purple-ish browny colour. I don’t think it was very popular, in spite of it being the ‘free’ colour; I wonder why?

Oh wow. Agreed – not a fan of that!

The mk7 was available in standard 'flat' black (not 100% sure the GTI was but GTD and lower trims definately were as we had a 2015 GTD & SE on lease in this no-cost option) paint code L041, similar to audi brilliant black.
mk7.5 only available in deep black perl or the rubin as above.

My MK7 GTI is flat black, so yes they did. :)

Thanks but only asking about the 7.5

"black rubin"... Aka.. "purple nasty"
